Two Different landmarks

October 17th: The wedding of Jodi (my sister)and Josh beginning a brand new marriage and home.

October 19th: This day would have marked the 64th anniversary of my Grandpa and Grandma Paasman. My grandma passed away earlier this year but 63 years of marriage is truly and great thing to be modeled and Clarence and Rose were more in love the last day of my Grandma's life than they were the day my Grandma watched my Grandpa get captured by the Germans during World War II.

Here's to a great marriage since parted by death and the start of a brand new marriage with two great role models in Rose and Clarence. Congratulations Jodi and Josh!

Jeremiah 29: 11-14

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD.

This is such a common verse....at least verse 11 is but it means so much more when you dig deeper. The Lord may have plans for you but we need to see the Lord with all our hearts. All to often we read verse 11 and say alright God get to work show me the way without really putting any effort into putting those plans into action, or even figuring out what they are. There is a part of "Facing the Giants" that I love that talks about two farmers who prayed for rain. One farmer went out into the field and prepared his crops as if rain was coming, the other kept praying. Which one had faith? You could say they both did but one certainly has a more active faith. These verses and this parable do not say to stop praying they are saying we need to show our faith through action.

Seeking God with all your heart is a tough task and determining His plan for you can be tough as well but with a little prayer, time with God, and action, we can all find our path. You might make a couple wrong turns along the way, when that happens:

1: STOP!
2: TURN AROUND
3: RETURN TO LOCATION WHERE WRONG TURN WAS MADE
4: PRAY, AND TRY AGAIN
