Does that sound realistic? No folks, basketball isn't like that. Even honest people know that in B-ball its only illegal if you get caught. If Lebron James, or any other player travels and does not get called they aren't going to say anything. Like it or not this is reality and most likely always will be but not in every sport.
Golf is, and always as been known as a gentleman's game where participants police themselves. The atmosphere in Golf, Tennis, Curling, and I'm sure a couple other sports, is refreshing in a world where you must get caught to admit to doing wrong. Despite the gentleman's aspect of Golf we rarely see such a great example of this reality but this past weekend we got just that. Brian Davis was involved in a playoff for the Heritage tournament win when his club touched a foreign object during his back swing, which is illegal. The trick is that no official saw that happen. While many people may have simply ignored the fact or played ignorant, Mr. Davis called the official over and told him, he was then properly given a two shot penalty. Without the penalty Davis would have won. Congratulations to Jim Furyk for winning the tournament, you deserved it. However, I must commend Brian Davis for showing true integrity where many would choose the opposite route. That is some well-needed good publicity for golf and his decision will payoff with time!
